The combined studio talents of Savas Pascalidis and Remute provide the latest release for techno legend Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver. Savas and Remute met each other at several parties they had both been booked to play and soon realised that they had similar tastes, especially their love of dark, rotating, sequencer techno and sleazy, slamming disco. The chemistry was right, so the two decided to hit the studio. The 3 original tracks making up this EP were built in a few short, spontaneous, but determined sessions, in which Savas’ heavy disco, techno and house background meet up with the fresh and funky way Remute works with sounds and samples.
The original version of ‘Lies’ is a pumping and swinging combination of beats and bass plus slashing vocals, while the remix by Luke Slater puts a crown on this fantastic track, and kicks off the EP. On the B side ‘Blood Simple’ is a dark and functional machine groove sound whose rotating saw teeth keep slicing into the groove. The last track ‘The End is Far’ is a refreshing funk catapult for the early morning hours making this EP a killer combination of light and dark.
