Luke Slater's "She Showed Me Heaven" made it's first appearance as part of the "Head Converter EP" released back in 2006 and was only the third release on Luke's own Mote-Evolver label. Now the label celebrates number ten with this latest instalment featuring 2 cracking new mixes from Mr Slater as well as interpretations from guests, Len Faki and Radial.
At the time, the original version of "She Showed Me Heaven", featuring Luke's own vocals, was a slice of electro-funk that helped to introduce this techno pioneer to a new audience. The latest remixes are firmly rooted in dancefloor territory, kicking off the A-side with Luke's "Junk Funk" remix which turns the original into a thrashing, no holds barred, peak time killer.
Flip over to the B-side for Luke's dubbier alter ego, L.B. Dub Corp and a stripped down, lazy dub-bass vibe. Slater himself says of the moniker: "A lot of inspiration came from my regular sets at Space Base in London where I started mixing up Dub reggae records with electronic minimalism."
Disc 2 passes the baton over to the guest remixers, and first up is Berlin's Len Faki (Podium / OstGut Ton / Berghain) with his dark, pounding techno version; heavy on the thundering bass and choppy beats.
Completing the package Dutch duo, Radial (Jeroen Liebregts & Laurens van der Starre) transfer the energy of their live shows into a vibrant remix of surging beats and distorted frequencies.

Planetary Assault Systems bring you another communication from the outer limits in the form of "Kat" and "Haiku" following on from their
previous transmission "Deep Heet Vol. 1". Propelling themselves into unchartered fathoms of the Drone Sector's shadow once visited and once returned. Food for thought indeed. We thank them kindly and hope to hear from them soon: Message End.
If you order the vinyl you will receive a free exclusive track by Savas Pascalidis entitled 'Suspiria'. This is EXCLUSIVE to mote-evolver.com!

The combined studio talents of Savas Pascalidis and Remute provide the latest
release for techno legend Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver. Savas and Remute met each other
at several parties they had both been booked to
play and soon realised that they had similar tastes, especially their love of dark,
rotating, sequencer techno and sleazy, slamming disco. The chemistry was right, so
the two decided to hit the studio. The 3 original tracks making up this EP were built
in a few short, spontaneous, but determined sessions, in which Savas’ heavy disco,
techno and house background meet up with the fresh and funky way Remute works
with sounds and samples.
The original version of ‘Lies’ is a pumping and swinging combination of beats and
bass plus slashing vocals, while the remix by Luke Slater puts a crown on this
fantastic track, and kicks off the EP. On the B side ‘Blood Simple’ is a dark and
functional machine groove sound whose rotating saw teeth keep slicing into the
groove. The last track ‘The End is Far’ is a refreshing funk catapult for the early
morning hours making this EP a killer combination of light and dark.

L.B.Dub Corp, a Luke Slater Production brings on the second release on Mote-Evolver.
Electra Glide Dub advances further into the mind stepping forward from the previous Rhythm Division from the first E.P. with more sonic mind bending swing-time dub tech Phaze Action, a 10 minute extravaganza of bass driven groove to shake the confidence of any system, overlayed with funk driven synth and cascading spaces.
A.Mochi is a DJ and producer in Toyko who also performs LIVE. He has become one of the most remarkable artists in the Tokyo underground scene, devoting himself to the groove of the techno/ house genre and the digital sounds found in 90's rock. Here, he delivers a 3 track EP of classy infectious pure grooves for Mote Evolver. A.Mochi is the first artist to have a release on Luke Slater's label with the RE:SOUND EP!
Starting off with lead track "Head Converter" Luke gets up behind the mike with a bomb blast of electro and drums hailing his new bands direction."I'm Going Up" keeps the flow with more live percussion and vox whilst "She Showed Me Heaven" drops the tempo a few notches whilst retaining the electro-funk blueprint and finally "Something About You" kicks things to a crescendo with guitars and a driving bass playing off Luke's lyrical delivery. I wanted to move forward from "Alright on Top" but not back to "Freek Funk".
"I'm really into my live show at the moment and we did some great festival gigs in the summer and I want Luke Slater releases to be more attached to the live side of things so what you hear on the record is what you get in the show. I love playing live with the full band."
L.B. Dub Corp signs the 2nd release on Mote Evovler "Rhythm Division". A new EP that brings the unique concept of "Dub Tech".
A Luke Slater Production.
In his own words: "I concentrated on an open production sound where the listener sits inside the sound rather than at the end of it. A lot of inspiration came from my regular sets at Space base in London where I started mixing up Dub reggae records with electronic minimalism."
